Abstract:

The paper introduces the scienti c and practical basis of the gas classi cation according to the natural methane content, the advantage of this method to compare with the classi cation method basing on gas release and to compare with the classi cation method basing on both 2 parameters and to choose the papameter with the most dangerous level. The second part the paper introduces the achievment of underground coal mines methane gas classi cation work in last 5 years, this work has been contributed to enhance the safety level in the angle of preventing methane gas re and/or explosion during the production procese in underground coal mines. The last part the paper proposed orientation of methane gas classi cation for undergroud coal mines in the future.
