Abstract:

In the process of face exploiting under the open pit mine (under the edge or directly at the open pit mine) which has finished exploitation, it may occur that water flows into the face or the phenomenon of water cracking. This phenomenon will lead to potential risks of unsafety in the face such as damage to equipment, machinery, and life threatening workers. At the same time, the face had to temporarily stop operating to overcome the consequences, so disrupting the technological chain, affecting production and business for the whole Company. In the case of face exploiting under the depp open pit mine, the phenomenon of water cracking will flood the entire mine, causing very heavy damage. Through the studying of the actual face exploitation of some mines under the open pit mine in Quang Ninh, the article analyzes the causes of water flowing into the face and the phenomenon of water cracking. On that basis, the article proposes a number of technical and technological solutions to prevent the phenomenon of water cracking into the face when exploiting it under the open pit mine area. The research results of the article can serve as a basis for a number of mines in Quang Ninh to deploy and apply in practice to ensure safety when face exploiting under open pit mine area that has finished exploitation
