Research effect of parameters on wheel wear of locomotive on Zobory’s method

Abstract:
This paper deals with an evaluation model of locomotive wheel flange wear is proposed based on the Zobory’s method. The model is a combination of the locomotive dynamics model, Hertz contact theory and Zobory’s method. The model is used to evaluate the influence of gauge widen and rail cant on wheel wear. This is the basis for research and selection of appropriate railway parameters to reduce wheel wear of locomotive.
