Abstract:
In the face of global challenges such as environmental pollution, global warming, the progressive depletion of mineral resources, and supply chain disruptions caused by geopolitical instability, the transition from the traditional linear economy model to the circular economy model has become an inevitable trend of the modern era. During this transition in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Vietnam, as a developing country with a late starting point, faces not only significant opportunities to leverage cutting-edge scientific and technological advancements and draw on international experience, but also numerous obstacles that must be identified and addressed. This paper presents the research findings on the concept, objectives, classification, and role of the circular economy model; identifies key difficulties and challenges; and proposes a set of comprehensive solutions for promoting circular economy development in Vietnam. Furthermore, the study introduces a sectoral chain model for a Circular Economy Park (CEP) in the coal mining industry, designed with reference to relevant international experiences.
