Abstract:

With the great demand for offshore oil platforms, while the domestic capacity in design, construction, manufacturing, maintenance, repair and upgrade of it is limited, the research and design , constructing and manufacturing self-lifting offshore oil platforms in accordance with Vietnamese conditions is very necessary. The article presents the content, implementation results and scienti c, practical, as well as socio-economic signi cance of two important PVN projects in this eld. The results of these two projects show that PVN’s capacity to design, construct, manufacture, maintain, repair and upgrade self-lifting offshore oil platforms and rig houses together with the localization rate of the works. This increased signi cantly, laying the foundation for an industry of manufacturing offshore oil platforms and marine structures in the Vietnam.
