Abstract:

At present, coal loss is one major problem that greatly affects the economical efficiency of Vietnam underground coal mines. The resolution of coal loss is a paramount objective that needs to be fulfilled according to the schedule of Vietnam coal industry. According to the production plan of Mao Khe coal mine, Seam 6 East North Wing will be extracted by drilling-and-blasting and supported by frame support ZHF1600/16/24. Due to the special geological conditions, the development work requires the driving of roadway in surrounding rock in combination with cross-cut to the seam. During exploitation normally should be leaved a coal pillar over the cross-cut -150. This is a key reason for great coal loss, especially when mining thick and inclnined seam such as Seam 6 East, which significantly affects the economical efficiency of the mine. In this paper, the authors introduces a proper solution that has been applied for mining without a coal pillar at face near maingate to recover coal when advancing face through crosscut at coal seam nr V6 East North Wing of Mao Khe coal mine. Basing on that, the author proposes to apply this method for another coal seams with similar condition at Mao Khe coal Company.
