Abstract:
The area of Hon Gai - Cam Pha is a part of the Quang Ninh coal basin, which has undergone nearly 200 years (1840 - 2023) of investigating, searching, exploring, and mining coal sources. Currently, the research area is a massive mining site with an annual production of about 30 million tons of coal, millions of cubic meters of rock, hundreds of thousands of meters of tunnels, and hundreds of thousands of meters of drilling invested in exploration. This provides an immense amount of information for geologists to have a more complete and comprehensive understanding of the Hon Gai - Cam Pha coal-bearing area. By synthesizing and analyzing existing documents and combining them with recent research findings, this article focuses on clarifying the geological structure characteristics, coal content, depth of coal seams, as well as evaluating the potential resources and reserves below -300 m. Based on this, it proposes directions for further exploration and surveying for coal below -300 m in the Hon Gai - Cam Pha area
