Abstract:

In the mineral processing industry, products need to be dewatered. Dewatering technology can be screening, centrifugation, sedimentation, filtration, drying, etc. Research on filtration in Vietnam, especially filtration of fine and ultrafine particle-size products of mineral processing, is still lacking. The specific resistance of filter cake and material moisture content are basic output indicators of the filtration test. However, there are still no technologies and equipment to determine these parameters. The article provides basic theoretical formulas to determine the filtration resistance of materials. This is the basis for determining filtration resistance by experimental methods, shortening analysis time. On that basis, a set of detailed designs of Nutsche-type filter experimental equipment is provided and described. This device has been used to study the influencing factors of the products of the separation plant such as particle size distribution, solid volume fraction, filter cake height, filtration pressure, the influence of filter aid on specific resistance cake, and moisture content of the material after filtration. The content of the article is a valuable reference when experimentally studying filtration parameters and is the basis for operating, and adjusting filtration technology, designing new industrial machine systems, or renovating old equipment.
