Abstract:
One of the problems that needs to be solved for machines and equipment is to reduce energy loss due to friction. Traditional solutions to reduce friction such as: using lubricating materials, anti-wear coatings, finishing manufacturing materials, selecting working modes, etc., although widely applied and effective, still have limitations. In the world, the solution of creating micro-textures on the surface of friction pairs has become a breakthrough in the field of tribology. Micro-textures such as small grooves, concave pits, convexities or other special structures have the ability to significantly improve lubrication efficiency, reduce friction coefficients and enhance load-bearing capacity. This technology has been successfully researched, developed and applied by countries such as the United States, Germany, Japan, Russia and China, reducing the coefficient of friction by up to 20%, increasing the life of parts by 15% ÷ 35%, while effectively saving energy and significantly reducing equipment operating costs. The article introduces research results in this field and proposes applications for some equipment serving the mining industry.
