Abstract:

Currently, the roof caving of the mechanized longwall in the underground coal mines of Vinacomin is forced by drilling and blasting from the tunnels near the roof. The solutions currently applied only for the initial fracture of immediate easy and medium collapse types of roofs do not take into account hard collapse types of roofs. Falling with a large area in the gob is a sudden and abnormal collapse, which can cause unsafetiness for people and mechanized equipment in longwall. On the basis of an analysis of experience in controlling hard collapse roofs abroad, the authors propose cutting roof technology by directional hydraulic pumping into roof caving in mechanized longwall underground coal mines in Quang Ninh
