Abstract:

The F.A Fault is one of the major faults that strongly influences the geological structure and coal seam distribution in the Mao Khe–Trang Bach area of the Quang Ninh Coal Basin. Its complex displacement has created significant challenges for stratigraphic correlation and coal seam identification between the two fault blocks. This study integrates geological modeling, geostatistical analysis, and spatial interpolation methods to investigate the distribution patterns of coal seam geological and industrial parameters. Based on data obtained from exploration boreholes, Trend, Variogram, and Kriging models were developed to characterize the spatial variability of seam floor elevation, seam thickness, and other geological-industrial indicators. The results provide a clearer understanding of the geometric characteristics of the F.A Fault, refine the correlation relationships between coal seams on both sides of the fault, and improve the reliability of seam identification and correlation. The study contributes to strengthening the scientific basis for coal exploration, resource evaluation, and mine planning in the Mao Khe–Trang Bach area.
