Abstract:

Open-pits of Vietnam are deeply exploited. At the end of exploitation, the mine bottom will be 300 ÷ 400 m lower than the sea water level. A series of dif culties are facing upon the deep oors are exploited such as: the high berm, large amount of water mud, the limited mine site size, the increased intensity of exploitation on each oor and the entire berm and the microclimate conditions will be changed in the unfavorable direction. On the basis of the analysis of characteristics at deep oors, the experience of exploitation at domestic and abroad, the paper proposes a number of suitable mining technology solutions in the deep open pits such as: the convex berm exploitation, the utilization of transport equipment with hill-climbing performance, the water mud treatment technology and the seasonal deepening, etc...for the safe exploitation, ensuring the mine output, the ef ciency and the maxium resource recovery
